Youth Group Kickoff 2005

We had our youth group kickoff on September 10th. We had around 18 youth come to play games and have fellowship. Here's what I prepared for my short welcome message:

Welcome Message

We'd like to welcome all the new people to our youth group! We hope that everyone finds youth group to be challenging and enjoyable. Our goal is to disciple you to grow in Christ and to become the men and ladies God wants you to be.

Our next study will be a two month study through the book of Proverbs. We will all be reading a chapter a day to develop holy habits of Bible reading, journaling, and prayer, as well as to to gain wisdom so that we can make wise decisions and think godly.

The youth leaders are here for you. If you need to talk, if you need a ride, if you need someone to pray with/for you, if you need accountability we are here for you.

Tonight we want to have fun, and to maximize our fun we need to lay down some expectations. We strongly encourage everyone to participate in the games, fellowship, etc. We also want you to make sure you make everyone feel welcome and a part of the youth group. We are God's youth group; therefore we want to represent God well. Our first game will begin in about 15 minutes at the driveway.
