This Week's Proverbs

We will be studying Proverbs 5-12 this week.  Read a proverb a day.  As a reminder here is the format for the study (make sure you have some kind of journal for keeping track of your progress).

1. Pray for the Holy Spirit's help
2. Read today's chapter
3. Pick out a verse that stands out to you...write it down in your journal
4. Write a handle, a short 2-4 word phrase that helps you remember the main idea of the verse
5. Paraphrase the verse (write it out in your own words)
6. Write a prayer to God of application
7. Memorize a verse (one a week)

Youth Group Tonight

We are having youth group tonight, but it will not be parents night.  We will have parents night next Monday on May 5th.  Don't forget to read your Proverbs.

MNF Tonight

We will be studying 1 John 5:6-12 tonight.  Unless something happens in between now and next week we will actually finish up 1 John next week.  Be sure to read through chapter five today.

Here are some questions to think about:

1. What do the water and the blood signify in verse 6?

2. What makes you feel alive?  What activities or experiences make you feel like you are really living? 

Study Tonight

We will be studying 1 John 5 tonight.  Bring your Bibles.

MNF Cancelled for Tonight

Youth group is canceled today (2/25/2008) due to illness. We'll see you all next week.

What to Bring: a snack and a 2 liter

This Saturday at 8:00 AM is a work day at the church. We will be helping out with some projects in our new facility. If you're able to come please contact John Carpenter (mentor@volstate.net). Breakfast will be provided.

Read 1 John 4

Stay in the Word this week by reading 1 John 4 at least three times so we'll all be ready to discuss next week's topic.

Welcome 2008
