What is a proverb?
What is wisdom? Why do I want it?
Why are we studying proverbs?
To gain wisdom
To develop holy habits

Our Theme Verse: 1:4 - “for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young” (NIV)
Check Up
How many of you managed the discipline to accomplish all seven chapters this week? And how many actually did one a day?
What do you think of the difficulty level of the study? Easy (1) or Hard (10)?
Let's all strive to make the effort. We all need to exercise our spirits otherwise we will become weak and flabby.
Did you find any common themes as you were reading proverbs last week?
Here are some things I found:
Friendships – I read a lot about what is not good for friendships, and how quickly they can be destroyed. I did read a few verses on the value of having good friends.
Justice – I remember reading a lot of admonitions to kings and the rich on speaking truth, judging rightly, not accepting bribes, and how we should treat the poor.
Tongue – I was struck by the amount of verses that told me how to control my tongue and things I should not say as well as things I should say. I even remember one verse that told me that talking too much was a bad thing. It made me think.
